BENGALURU: The city's first segregated waste-collection kiosk opened on NAL-Wind Tunnel Road near Murugeshpalya on Tuesday.
Christened 'kasa kiosk'(kasa is waste/trash in Kannada), the initiative aims at preventing residents from dumping garbage by the roadside. The kiosk has been set up by Omega Healthcare Management Services Pvt Ltd, in association with Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) and Saahas, a non-profit organization.
It will be manned by two people from 7am to 11am and 7pm to 11pm. Dry waste will be given to the dry waste collection centre, and wet/domestic hazardous waste will be collected by BBMP.
