Background:
Beluguppa and Tagguparthy Gram Panchayats (GPs), located in Beluguppa Mandal of Anantapur District in Andhra Pradesh’s Rayalaseema region, are traditionally agricultural communities. However, shifting consumption patterns have led to a steady rise in plastic waste generation. Local governing bodies are finding it challenging to adapt and have yet to establish an effective waste management system.
