Background/Need

Saahas'  field assessment revealed a complete absence of formal systems, unsafe disposal practices like open dumping and unsafe disposal practices have led to uncollected waste polluting the local environment. There is limited institutional understanding across stakeholders. The local scrap dealer network also remains largely untapped.However, there is also strong local interest in change.

Objectives: 

To build the technical and operational capacity of the Kathiwada Foundation (KWF) to design, implement, and oversee a sustainable solid waste management system across three Gram Panchayats through a structured four-phase process, supported by technical handholding from Saahas.
