Background:

अर्थSHALA is a learning center that has been set up in Ecogram, Gurugram with the funding support of Signode India.

It is a space created at the EcoGram for people  (citizens, students, RWAs, officials) to understand the circular economy, sustainable living and solid waste management. अर्थ signifies "Earth" while Shala is from "pathshala"- a place for learning. Thus, it is a dedicated space for exploring and understanding the Earth and the Environment.

Objectives: 
It has an open-air theatre surrounded by display boards with messaging about different aspects of solid waste management on principles of circular economy. As it is situated inside EcoGram, visitors have access to functional composting plants and biogas plants along with a material recovery facility. It provides a holistic learning experience combining practical and theoretical learning. This center provides a platform for workshops, education, and dialogue on recycling, waste reduction, and the advantages of adopting circular practices. It is located in the heart of Gurugram, making it very accessible to all citizens.
